SmartCAT Observatory

The Government of Catalonia's SmartCAT strategy includes the launch of the SmartCAT Observatory to provide a comprehensive and updated perspective of the Smart projects and initiatives being carried out in Catalan territory.

SmartCAT Observatory

The SmartCAT Observatory has been developed as part of this strategy to identify and raise awareness of the various Smart City initiatives being undertaken in Catalan towns and cities. The objective is to promote the advancement of smart cities, foster cooperation between government bodies and attract private investment.

The result of the Observatory's work is presented in this web viewer that provides the public and the private sector with information about the Smart projects and the current situation of the pioneering Catalan municipalities in this field.

Objectives

Provide a comprehensive and updated perspective of the Smart projects and initiatives being carried out in Catalan territory in order to:

  • Enhance learning and the exchange of experiences and to create synergies between government bodies.
  • Act as a centralised window for access where businesses and entrepreneurs can find out about the current situation of the towns concerned and their priorities in the Smart field
  • Attract investment in the field of smart cities and the ICTs
